Oakland Vale Changes

It’s an exciting time at Oakland Vale, after 11 years at our current offices in Bexhill, we are moving to a larger office complex in St Leonards-on-sea. Oakland Vale was started in 2003 by the 2 current directors Darren Blackwell; Design Director and Dave Duggan; Managing Director. Darren prepared the drawings for planning; Dave ran the building projects and managed the business.

During the last 11 years Oakland Vale has continued to grow taking on a range of domestic and commercial projects, offering not only a design service but also a full design and build service.

Oakland Vale specialise in Oak frame buildings and work closely with the Oak frame manufacturers T J Crump Oakwrights based in Hereford. In fact Oakland Vale are one of Oakwrights build partners.

Although we specialise in Oakframe builds we have also designed and built non Oak framed buildings and extensions.

In 2013 our hard work was recognised when one of the projects, a contemporary Oak Framed Eco home on the Isle of Wight which was designed and project managed by Oakland Vale, was awarded Best Individual Dwelling in the LABC South East awards and was highly commended in the LABC national awards. It has also recently been shortlisted along with another of our projects in Berkshire for an award with a leading self-build magazine.

In 2011 we were asked to design a Farmshop on the Leckford Estate in Hampshire for the Waitrose John Lewis partnership. We gained planning and were also awarded the build and are now Waitrose Approved contractors.

The new offices will accommodate our expanding workforce and enable the Design and Build management team to work together under one roof. There will also be a dedicated meeting room for clients and internal office meetings.

We have also recently taken on 2 new site agents Ian Herrington, Julian Compton and another technician Joe Murray to enable us to effectively manage our current work load.
